Turtle's short term goals...

It dawned on me at the beginning of the summer that one doesn't have to wait till the new year to make new goals. So, in realizing this I also lost an excuse as to why I haven't gotten off my gluteus maximus  in some departments of my life. I've decided meh, it's time to dust off some of those short term dreams. So this summer I plan to:

  1. Create a DIY project for customizing handbags and pack backs.
  2. Finally visit the Andy Warhol Museum
  3. Find a pair of colored pants that aren't denim.
  4. Find a pair of funky patterned flats.
  5. Get my 2nd tattoo.
  6. Learn how to mix swanky cocktails. (Someone's turning 21 soon.)
  7. Finish the play I'm writing for Phaedra's club at our school.
  8. Ride my bike more...(which would require learning how to ride a bike)
  9. Kiss a dolphin (I'm headed to the Dominican Republic this week so this so may be in my very near future)
  10. Write more slam poetry
I'll be posting updates on all of these so hold me to it!

PETFO: Tortoise TLC

Now that it's summer, I can finally let Perry wonder around my back and front yard. I try to get him outside for a few hours every day. The challenge is having to keep a watchful eye on him, so he doesn't sneak away. Natural sunlight is so important for tortoise and turtle shells, it can be hard to give them access to it if your area doesn't provide temperatures they can sustain in normally, but if it does get warm where you are try and get your tortoise or turtle outside for a bit, but BE CAREFUL, they may try and runaway! When Perry's outside I'll feed him, let him snack on dandelions when he finds them, and force some swim time on him. He's not always a fan of his pool, which I fashioned out a bird bath I bought from a Lowes hardware store, but on really hot days I think he enjoys it most. I even like to give him strawberries as an extra little bonus. I've been trying to introduce more variety into his diet. I'll post about his diet soon.

SATURDAY DIME(Sunday Edition):Phaedra's Summer Loves

Philadelphia. All of the concerts I go to during the summer are there, so
is the best yarn store I have ever been too and a bunch of great craft stores.

Beaching. I love going to the beach, and it's super convenient since I'm only
an hour away from the closest one. Plus, I love beach food.

Basement shows. Playing in them, watching them. It's all fun, plus the
people are always amazing.

Field Trips. Philadelphia Zoo. Baltimore Aquarium. Beaches. Whole Foods.
Valley Rides. King of Prussia Mall.

Garage Sales. And antiquing, probably my two favorite things
of all time.

Parking. Or rather, going to various parks around town. I'm so
lucky to live in a place with so many beautiful nature hotspots.

Crocheting. My friends and I have "old lady parties" where we
sit around, crochet, and gossip for hours.

Scavenger Hunts. I LOVE Scavenger Hunts, it's fun to get everyone involved, plus
you end up with a bunch of really awesome pictures to have forever!

Reading.  I don't remember why I'm posing with a Helen Keller book here,
but summer is the best time to catch up on all of the reading that I put off during
the year.

Friends. Bonfires, game nights, movies, sleepovers, and everything else in between.
I have the best friends in the world, and they definitely make my summer amazing.
